CILAS Bridge ProgrammeDEADLINE:19 June 2020
Cairo Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CILAS) invites applications for a one-year 'bridge' programme in the liberal arts. In solidarity, prospective students who are refugees in Egypt are exempted from tuition.
The one-year 'bridge' programme is divided into two semesters. During the fall semester all twenty-four students complete a trans-disciplinary core curriculum consisting of three complementary core courses. In the spring semester students choose two thematic courses.
CILAS brings together students from all walks of life: high school graduates as well as university walkouts, students and graduates; wisdom seekers and career shifters; trained engineers, economists and doctors; activists, artists and organisers; Egyptians from different provinces, refugee and other foreign students; devout believers and agnostics, and others.
CILAS offers a sliding scale for its tuition that is sensitive to people's financial needs and abilities to contribute.
Student contribution should amount to 15,000 L.E. Applicants may be afforded need-based deductions on their tuition amounting up to 6000 L.E. Refugees in Egypt are exempted from tuition.
