RAW Académie is a tuition free experimental study program for the research and study of artistic and curatorial practice and thought. The program takes place over seven weeks in Dakar. It is dedicated to a dynamic reflection on artistic research, curatorial practice and critical writing.
Session 8 will be led by writers Yemisi Aribisala and Siddhartha Mitter and will take place from May 4 to June 19, 2020.
Successful applicants are required to commit to being in Dakar throughout the duration of the session
Be a graduate of an art school, curatorial programme, architecture school or any department of humanities
Be fluent in either French or English and have a fair knowledge of the other. Successful applicants will be skype interviewed in both languages for assessment.
A maximum of 10 fellows are selected for each session.
The programme is tuition-free. Successful applicants will have to cover their travel arrangements (including visa), accommodation, insurance and costs of living in Dakar for seven weeks. Depending on the work schedule, simple meals/snacks may be offered occasionally.
The application process for Session 8 closes on January 31, 2020. Only the first 75 applications will be considered for review.
