Riu d’art Street FestDEADLINE:5 April 2020
Riba-roja d’Ebre is a village in the Ribera d’Ebre region (Tarragona, Catalonia), bathed by the Ebro River and surrounded by a stunning natural environment. During two weeks of June each summer, the village becomes a factory of experimental art, culture, performances, design, and activities.
The international residency of Riu d’art is a project which aims to create interventions in strategic municipal areas of the village (both public and private) to improve their condition in order to create synergies between public, and private spaces, cultural initiatives and art as a transversal and energising element.
The call is open to all artistic disciplines. Ephemeral works will be recorded to create a lasting legacy of the work created. Equipment is basic, although there is access to a local welding workshop, ceramic facilities, projector and technical assistance.
Each artist is offered 250 Euros towards their travel and 150 Euros for the materials required. All food and accommodation is supplied by the Riba Rocks association.
Accommodation is a self-catering shared apartment with traditional cuisine dinners as a special meal out on occasion. Fibre optic high-speed wi-fi is available in all local bars and restaurants.
